We’ve just gotten back from Mexico and it was a BLAST!!
Before I forget to mention it, on Friday/in 2 days at 4pm I’m having my first Pampered Chef party - mostly as a practice, cooking as a show. In case I didn’t get to talk to you about it yet, I would love for you all to come! The more the better, I need the experience
I got lots of sun, which gave me a bit of a tan for my hallowe’en costume!
I’ll be posting pictures, but we’re having some trouble with that - - my camera had an unfortunate meeting with the ocean, as did Gavin’s glasses! Luckily, perscription glasses are very competitively priced in Mexico, and eye exams are right cheap! Gavin was due to update anyway
Apparently whistling is part of their language there - I’ve never heard so much whistling, and then the people that are whistled to respond as if it was a sentence! I saw a guy whistle, and then another guy came out of nowhere and threw him a pen! How did he do that?
Also, the have “open air taxis” called pullmonias, and their horns sounds like whistling. Gavin and I were whistled at more while in Mexico than the rest of our lives!
After we were there for a couple days, we found out there is a heavy German influence in Mazatlan. The born and made in Mazatlan beer that gavin was drinking - Pacifico - was apparently started by the german fisherman community that was living in Mazatlan whenever ago. And the mexican music was also started by the german mexicans - add drums to a polka and apparently that’s all it takes to make mexican music!
We had a lot of fun at the ocean - our hotel was right on the beach. And even though we lost some cool stuff, it was REALLY funny at the time. .. . strange, usually that’s something you’d look back on and laugh…
More pictures coming soon! We have to actually develop them, due to my unfortunate camera accident and subsequent disposable camera purchase!
