This is what happens when nerds marry

Woo hoo! I’ve got a new hobby, erasers everywhere, beware!

The colours didn’t go through the scanner very well - - what I need to do is get ahold of some black ink, and stamp onto white paper!!

It’s too bad you can’t see them better! The giraffe is my favourite - his spots turned out so well!

I don’t know what to carve next! I’ll have to get more stamps…..

…and an ink pad, so I don’t have to go to work to try them out ;)

Ooh, if I invert the colours you can see the stamps a bit more clearly. Click on it to see them bigger if you’d like.

Ok! Tell me what I should make next! I do need to make a signature stamp too!

If you know Zoe, you probably know that she doesn’t like traditional rez-pizza.

So, we decided to make our very own (mostly) healthy pizza of doom!

We started with Smoked Salmon cream cheese and asperagus:

We added some awesome chicken in spinach cheese sauce that Mom W made for my birthday :)

Then we added cherry tomatoes and parmesan cheese:

It looks good enough to eat!

More cheese:

On a side note… Florescent bulbs make AWESOME lightsabers!

I watched some people play Guitar Hero on the Playstation, and I have to tell you, it looks awesome. The problem is, I don’t have a Playstation, and I don’t like paying for games ;)
Guitar Hero is basically Dance Dance Revolution, but with a guitar instead of a dancepad. Much cooler.

So I found an open source clone of Guitar Hero, called Frets On Fire. You can play with your keyboard, if you want to look like a complete dork.

I have an old gutless guitar body. I also have a gamepad controller:

I took apart the controller and I held it up to my guitar body. I think I can do this. I KNOW I can do this. I just need some wire, some wire cutters, maybe a soldering iron… I can make a guitar controller so I can play Frets On Fire and not look like a dork.

Here is the guitar so far:

…and here is the guts that are to go into it:

SO if anyone still doesn’t know what to give me for my birthday ;) I need a soldering iron, lots of wire and wire cutters :P
I’ll post my progress once it’s done!

Well, until then, back to studying!

Seen while driving from Belleville to Peterborough.

Some fences are more invisible than others ;)
Ooh, and we changed it so that it automatically makes this size of a thumbnail and then you can click it to see the full size.

Next up: make it easy to upload more than one photo at a time!

Oh, and Gavin was pleased to find out that those shirts we bleached make for great camouflage!

When I met Gavin, I really hadn’t ever known someone who had died, and he sometimes worried what would happen if someone did. In the past year, 5 people in my family have died. He didn’t need to worry, we all took it well enough! I think the strangest thing about people dying is how much it doesn’t change things. At first, the most obvious result of someone dying is that the world will never be the same again, but the truth is, the world never is the same from one moment to the next. When someone leaves your life, your life just keeps ticking along.

Sometimes it seems like bad things happen all at once. I recently found out that our friend was sexually assaulted a couple months ago. What an awful thing to happen to someone!

Gavin pointed out the very real truth, that when something bad happens to someone you know, you’re more scared about it happening again.

We saw on chex news last night. On Tuesday night 2 girls were attacked downtown, just 2 or 3 blocks from my house. One girl was threatened with a knife, and another girl was grabbed by the throat. Both girls escaped relatively unharmed, but seriously! This is Peterborough, not Gotham City!

So, I’ve decided to be batgirl… hah!

On another note, I’m pumped about going home for easter. Tomorrow we’re having dinner w/ Gavin’s family - gramma and his aunt&uncle are going to be there. Then Samuel’s coming home on Saturday. Woo hoo!

btw: Gavin and I are both in need of new running shoes and backpacks, so if you know of any awesome sales going on right now, you are obligated to tell us now.

Happy Easter!
