I am counting my first Pampered Chef party as a SUCCESS!
I had three people come, and we all had a very good time, and I made some very delicious Phyllo wrapped Asparagus with Red Pepper Aioli as the dip. Mmm-mmm.
It’s actually really easy to make, and if you come to a party I’ll show you how to make it
And of course everyone got to see how cool the pampered chef stuff is.
I’m really excited, I thought doing shows would be really fun, and now I know for sure!
On a completely unrelated note, I’m having a hard time living without a digital camera. It’s weird cuz it didn’t seem like I used my other one that often - but now everytime I want to take a picture, I can’t!!

I’m considering the Canon Powershot A430. I’m pretty much decided on it - I think it might be a little better than my old camera, and it’s way cheaper than what I paid 2 years ago!
It’s 4 cents cheaper at Staples than future shop, but staples only has it in silver. I think I like the blue better. Anyway, is has more ’software’ than my old one. Apparently I can pick a colour and the camera will take a picture where everything is black and white except for the one that I picked. And also, I can take really close up pictures, like of plants or bugs and other small things, and they’ll be clear at less than 1/2 inch away. It’s 4mp and the old one was 3.2. AND it’s 20grams lighter than my old camera! So, what do you think? I think I’m going to go for it ;)Â Now do I have the money to do it. I guess I’d better go calculate out a budget with Gavin!
And on another again unrelated note, Gavin and I are likely going to begin a webdesign business, and we need a name! Think of something spectacular and unique and perfect for us, and if we pick it, you could win a prize! Maybe we’ll cook something for you. Or maybe we’ll buy you some chocolate - - - we’ll talk to you about it when you win
Ok,
Later Days!

We’ve just gotten back from Mexico and it was a BLAST!!
Before I forget to mention it, on Friday/in 2 days at 4pm I’m having my first Pampered Chef party - mostly as a practice, cooking as a show. In case I didn’t get to talk to you about it yet, I would love for you all to come! The more the better, I need the experience
I got lots of sun, which gave me a bit of a tan for my hallowe’en costume!
I’ll be posting pictures, but we’re having some trouble with that - - my camera had an unfortunate meeting with the ocean, as did Gavin’s glasses! Luckily, perscription glasses are very competitively priced in Mexico, and eye exams are right cheap! Gavin was due to update anyway
Apparently whistling is part of their language there - I’ve never heard so much whistling, and then the people that are whistled to respond as if it was a sentence! I saw a guy whistle, and then another guy came out of nowhere and threw him a pen! How did he do that?
Also, the have “open air taxis” called pullmonias, and their horns sounds like whistling. Gavin and I were whistled at more while in Mexico than the rest of our lives!
After we were there for a couple days, we found out there is a heavy German influence in Mazatlan. The born and made in Mazatlan beer that gavin was drinking - Pacifico - was apparently started by the german fisherman community that was living in Mazatlan whenever ago. And the mexican music was also started by the german mexicans - add drums to a polka and apparently that’s all it takes to make mexican music!
We had a lot of fun at the ocean - our hotel was right on the beach. And even though we lost some cool stuff, it was REALLY funny at the time. .. . strange, usually that’s something you’d look back on and laugh…
More pictures coming soon! We have to actually develop them, due to my unfortunate camera accident and subsequent disposable camera purchase!

Apparently the way we had the photos hasn’t been working out for everyone! I’ve changed it around a bit, and while it’s still not perfect, maybe this will make you much happier!
I’ve grouped the photos into categories, and while they still aren’t in order within the category, at least they are within a couple hours of each other
Here’s the list!
Corby Rose Garden Photos
Ceremony Photos
Reception Photos - by our Photographer and you!
Corn Roast!
Rehearsal & Rehearsal BBQ
Girls Getting Ready
If you book marked that other link, you’ll need to change it! There’s nothing there.
And if you’re having trouble getting these new links to work for you, just send Gavin or me an email, and we’ll see about working it out for you!
I’ve just been hired on at the Bata (University) library, and I start my training on Sunday! My new boss said my references were “Wonderful” so a big thanks to YOU!
On Wednesday, Gavin and I made ourselves some spinach dip and deep fried mushrooms. They were just fine!!! Gavin’s been talking about the mushrooms pretty much nonstop ever since. Too bad deep fried sounds so unhealthy! Otherwise, maybe we’d have them everyday!
On another note, I’m toying with the idea of having a pampered chef party, maybe after reading week? Let me know if you’re interested in coming!
