God loves you too!
Martha:
God loves me.
Joey:
Yup. And he loves me.
Martha:
And he loves him *point to someone*
Joey:
And he loves her *point to someone*
Martha:
And he loves him *point to someone*
Joey:
And - waitaminnute. How do you know that?
Martha:
What do you mean?
Joey:
How do you know that God loves him *point* ?
Martha:
Because God loves us all. We’re his children!
Joey:
But you don’t know that guy! *point* What if he’s
one bad dude?
Martha:
God still loves him.
Joey:
But what if someone lies all the time?
Martha:
God still loves you.
Joey:
But what if someone steals candy? From babies?
Martha:
God still loves you.
Joey:
But what if… God will love you anyway, even if you misbehave?
Martha:
Think about it like this: Does your mom love you?
Joey:
Yes.
Martha:
And what about if you lie to her, does she still
love you?
Joey:
Yes
Martha:
And what if you break her favourite antique vase,
does she still love you?
Joey:
Yes.
Martha:
See? God is your heavenly father. He loves you no
matter how much you misbehave. Not that you should,
though.
Joey:
My mom was pret-ty upset when I broke that vase…
Martha:
So, there’s nothing you can do to make God not
love you. “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Joey:
Neither rain nor shine?
Martha:
Right.
Joey:
God’s love is more persistent than the postman!
