- Joey:
- Hey Martha, what’s up?
- Martha:
- I’m just reading Acts chapter 2, verses 42 - 47. Hey Joey, I was wondering, why did the apostles share EVERYTHING? They even sold their things, just to share more with each other? We don’t do that! Why did they do that?
- Joey:
- Well, you see… uh… Maybe they were hippies?
- Martha:
- Hippies are from the 60’s, Joey. The early christians were WAY before that.
- Joey:
- But in Jesus Christ Superstar, the apostles were hippies!
- Martha:
- That’s not really how it happened, though
- Joey:
- Well, how about… uh… hey, I don’t know! Let’s ask Pastor Miriam
Joey and - Martha:
- PASTOR MIRIAM! HEY, PASTOR MIRIAM!
Miriam: Hey guys, whats up? - Martha:
- Were the early christians hippies? Is that why they shared everything?
Miriam: They shared everything because they believed that Jesus was coming back really soon. - Joey:
- But we believe Jesus is coming back really soon!
- Martha:
- Joey, do you really believe that? Because you’ve been hoarding candy under your bed for months!
- Joey:
- Well, I guess I don’t know when Jesus is coming back!
- Martha:
- Pastor Miriam, when is Jesus coming back?
Miriam: Well, he could be coming back any minute. Since it’s been so long since we’ve been expecting him, sometimes we forget that he could be coming at any minute, or not for a long time. - Joey:
- So… if he comes right now, I might not have time to eat my candy?
- Martha:
- Let’s not take any chances! Joey, I’ll help you eat it right now! Let’s go! (goes)
- Joey:
- Hey! Wait up! I didn’t agree to that yet!
