Hospitality

Performed at Victoria Avenue Baptist Church on November 2nd, 2008
Inspired by Hebrews 13:1-2

This week VABC had visitors from Montreal, who spoke about the congregation in Haiti.

Martha:
Oh, Joey, isn’t it exciting that we have all these visitors?

Joey:
It’s pretty cool. Makes me wish I had paid more attention in class de francais…

Martha:
Did you know that all the visitors are staying in the homes of people that go to this church? That is so cool! Don’t you wish somebody was staying with your family, Joey?

Joey:
What?? Nooooo thank you!

Martha:
Really? Why not? That would be so cool!

Joey:
I’ll have you know that I have a Sunday morning tradition of eating waffles. In my underwear!

Martha:
… you… put… waffles… in…. your…. underwear?

Joey:
NO! I sit in my underwear and eat waffles on a plate.

Martha:
You sit …. on…. a …. plate?

Joey:
You know what I mean! Having people visit would really mess with my morning routine!

Martha:
ugh…. boys! But Joey, having visitors is a way to meet new people, learn about different places, and make new friends. And, it says in the bible, that when we have guests, we might be entertaining angels and not even know it!

Joey:
I don’t want angles to see me in my underwear!

Martha:
Wouldn’t you rather meet people, hear stories and make friends?

Joey:
I guess that does sound kindof cool. I guess I can skip my morning tradition for those things, especially if I might be entertaining angels! Angels probably have some amazing stories!

Martha:
That’s the spirit, Joey! After all, we don’t get to have visitors every weekend, so you can still have your tradition too! Your weird, weird, tradition…

Joey:
Alright! I’m going to ask my parents if next time, we can have visitors!
