Inspired by Ephesians 2:1-10
- Martha:
- Hey, Joey, how are you today?
- Joey:
- I think I’m in trouble!
- Martha:
- What else is new??
- Joey:
- Really, Martha, this is it! I’m done for!
- Martha:
- What is it? Did you break something valuable?
- Joey:
- No…
- Martha:
- Did you eat a bug?
- Joey:
- No… Well… yeah, but that isn’t it…
- Martha:
- ewww…. Well… Did you agree to do something that you can’t possibly do?
- Joey:
- No… oh, wait - yes! That’s EXACTLY what it is!
- Martha:
- It is?
- Joey:
- Yes! I agreed to do the bible reading next week!
- Martha:
- So, what’s so bad about that?
- Joey:
- Martha! I can’t read under pressure! Remember last year at school?
- Martha:
- Oh yes, I remember that you started to read Shakespeare out loud, and then you lost your place, and then you started reciting the words to “Oh Where is my Hairbrush” from Veggie Tales…
- Joey:
- I CAN’T DO THIS!
- Martha:
- You are starting to sound link Moses.
- Joey:
- Moses couldn’t read out loud?
- Martha:
- God told Moses to talk to the people, but Moses was too nervous.
- Joey:
- Moses was too nervous to talk to the people? Just like I’m too nervous to read next week’s verse?
- Martha:
- Exactly - So, God said that he didn’t have to do it alone. God said that Moses’ brother could help him out.
- Joey:
- Martha! Will you go with me and help me read the scripture?
- Martha:
- I sure will!
- Joey:
- Thank you! You’re a life-saver
- Martha:
- You’re welcome, Joey. You know, there’s a lesson to be learned here.
- Joey:
- Another lesson? There’s always a lesson…
- Martha:
- Even if God himself tells you to do something, it doesn’t mean you have to do it all by yourself. It’s OK to ask for help.
- Joey:
- Maybe we can take turns reading sentences. OR, maybe we can take turns reading WORDS! That would be so cool! Let’s practice - Genesis 1:1. “In”…
- Martha:

- Joey:

- God created the ‘um’ ?
- Joey:
- Hmmm… I guess that isn’t a very good idea.
- Martha:
- I like the idea of taking turns reading sentences. Do you want to go practice reading?
- Joey:
- Sure!
